Synthetic Test results
Let’s start with synthetic tests, they are pretty straight forward and will give use a baseline to work with.
Single core performance
No surprise in these results, single core performance i pretty much scales with clock speed. there is a slight gain from Sync all cores, but that is probabaly due to the fact that the active thread moves between cores from time to time, controlled by the OS.
Multi-Core Performance
Again, no surprises here, performance scales up with clock. a nice boost is gained in “Sync All cores” as they are all running at 4.7Ghz rather then in 4.3Ghz as normally designed.
Turning off HT cuts down the logical core count by half, slowing down MC operations considerably (but not by half as you might expect).
